Searching: Embedded Software Engineer You take part in the development of next generation ultra-low-power wireless and wearable health monitoring solutions. Your focus will be on developing innovative prototypes combining achievements from XXXXX research with state-of-art components. You are in charge of the embedded software components, and work in close collaboration with hardware designers and application experts. You contribute to advancing the state-of-the-art by developing innovative demonstrators of low-power wearable sensors exploiting latest technologies. These prototypes are used in pilot studies in real-life environments, and are at the same time true eye-catchers for XXXXX partners. Responsibilities • Develop mobile health applications based on wearable sensors, and interfacing to PCs, smart phones and other portable devices; • Demonstrate the prototypes at partner meetings, conferences and symposia; • Deliver results on time in line with the roadmap; • Actively contribute to the evolution of wireless health monitoring over the next years; • Develop and maintain a generic firmware architecture for body sensor networks, achieve robust and reliable physiological signal monitoring in real-life environments; • Implement bio-medical processing algorithms in resource-constrained micro-controllers and DSPs; • Implement power efficient wireless communication protocols for body sensor networks; • Characterize and test these prototypes, and optimize for low-power consumption. Profile You are eager to join the team and contribute to its growing international recognition. You have the following background: • BSc or MSc degree in embedded software engineering, electrical engineering or computer science; • 3+ years experience in low-power embedded software design; • Experience in the field of wireless sensor networks and biomedical electronics; • Hands on experience with low-power sensors and low-power communication protocols (e.g. Bluetooth, Zigbee); • Hands on experience with mobile operating systems (e.g. Android, Windows mobile); • Enthusiastic programmer (C, C++, C#, Java) with eye for detail; • Experience in bio-medical signal processing is a plus; • Good communication skills in English. ------------------------ To increase our competences in the Picture Quality we are looking for driven team players (M/F) who want to grow in this dynamic and innovative environment. Picture Quality Senior Software Development Designer (Brugge) As Picture Quality Software Development Designer you will be responsible more specifically to: - Drive the Discussion with the Third Party Supplier in in all integration domains like Interfacing, PlugIn Development (Linux Kernel Module, shared libraries, …) - Drive the technical Discussion with the HW coleagues on the Displays, Ambilight, Sensors, … - Lead technically the Development of the Picture Quality, … More generally as Software Development Designer within the Software Platform team you will be responsible to: - create, implement and test the design of a system on component or integration level - finalise design specifications in accordance with the functional specifications - work conform procedures and processes, compliant with the Capability Maturity Model - operate in a project driven organization and respond to directions from your Team Leader - timely reach the milestones whilst guaranteeing the quality of the software - ensure that there is proper documentation for the developed software - keep abreast of technical developments in own field through study of the literature and technical contacts - organise independently reviews of your design with colleagues - work closely together with colleagues from other disciplines and third-party software suppliers. - Active contribution in resolving problems. - Give support in analysis and resolution of problems Profile - you are an Industrial or Civil Engineer or Master in Informatics or have a specialisation in Computer Sciences - you have minimum 5 years experience in an embedded software environment - experience with third party software suppliers is considered an asset - you have experience in working with other disciplines like hardware - you are communicative and result driven - you can work on a very high conceptual level - you are quality minded both on a product and process level - you have a good level of English.
